Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, chemically modified oils imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to chemically modified oils imports into Egypt stood at X%. At the same time, Angola (X%), Nigeria (X%), Mozambique (X%), Burkina Faso (X%), Somalia (X%), Sudan (X%), Algeria (X%), Malawi (X%) and South Africa (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Angola emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Morocco experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, Egypt ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported animal or vegetable fats and oils chemically modified in Africa, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Africa ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Malawi, with a X% share.
In Egypt, chemically modified oils imports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Africa (X% per year) and Malawi (X% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
