Iron And Steel Market Size in Belarus

The Belarusian iron and steel market soared to $X in 2021, increasing by 76% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, iron and steel exports fell rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 255%. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Egypt (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) were the main destinations of iron and steel exports from Belarus, with a combined 96% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Egypt (with a CAGR of +13.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, the largest markets for iron and steel exported from Belarus were Russia ($X), Jordan ($X) and Egypt ($X), with a combined 94% share of total exports.

Egypt, with a CAGR of +6.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 43%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jordan (+14.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
