Crude Maize Oil Exports

Exports in the EU

After two years of decline, shipments abroad of crude maize (corn) oil increased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced decline. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, crude maize oil exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Hungary was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. France (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Italy (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Spain (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. The Czech Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to crude maize oil exports from Hungary stood at X%. At the same time, Poland (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), Italy (X%), Spain (X%) and France (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. In 2022, crude maize oil imports in the European Union contracted markedly to X tons, which is down by X% compared with the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, crude maize oil imports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
