The average aluminium wire import price stood at $9,941 per ton in July 2023, surging by 30% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 53% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($39,890 per ton), while the price for Germany ($5,048 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $2,883 per ton, with a decrease of -35% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 59%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,438 per ton, and then fell significantly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Angola ($3,867 per ton) and France ($2,945 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($2,740 per ton) and Italy ($2,839 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
