The average aluminium wire import price stood at $2,500 per ton in July 2023, declining by -6.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 16% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,335 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,212 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($2,111 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iceland (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In July 2023, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $2,962 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 6.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,653 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Israel ($9,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($2,314 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
