Amino-Resin Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2023
The average amino-resin import price stood at $2,603 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -2.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a mild decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,271 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,285 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,361 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Amino-Resin Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2023
The average amino-resin export price stood at $2,137 per ton in September 2023, declining by -15.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,763 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Chile ($4,059 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bolivia ($661 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Argentina (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Imports in Brazil
For the fourth consecutive year, Brazil recorded growth in purchases abroad of amino-resins, phenolic resins and polyurethanes (in primary forms), which increased by 4.8% to 150K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, amino-resin imports skyrocketed to $449M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +83.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Amino-Resin Exports in Brazil
