Canned Vegetable Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average canned vegetable import price stood at $1,677 per ton in September 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 10% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,883 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Greece ($2,753 per ton), while the price for Germany ($693 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Canned Vegetable Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
The average canned vegetable export price stood at $3,291 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 110% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $4,799 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($5,914 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vanuatu ($1,101 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, approx. 196K tons of canned vegetables were imported into Australia; increasing by 12% against 2021 figures. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
