Canned Vegetable Price in Bahrain (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average canned vegetable import price amounted to $1,883 per ton, falling by -3.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 6.5%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,951 per ton in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,866 per ton), while the price for Jordan ($1,218 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Canned Vegetable Price in Bahrain (FOB) - 2022

The average canned vegetable export price stood at $4,068 per ton in 2022, surging by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 119% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($7,398 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,988 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Niger (+62.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Canned Vegetable Imports in Bahrain

In 2022, purchases abroad of canned vegetables was finally on the rise to reach 7.8K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn.

In value terms, canned vegetable imports rose significantly to $15M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild descent.

Canned Vegetable Exports in Bahrain

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of canned vegetables, when their volume decreased by -96.2% to 11 tons. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 53%.

In value terms, canned vegetable exports declined dramatically to $46K in 2022. In general, exports showed a sharp decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 119% against the previous year.
