India (2.5M units) ranked third in terms of total consumption with a 6.1% share.

In 2022, global cash register exports skyrocketed to 34M units, rising by 26% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 28%. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, cash register exports surged to $5B in 2022. In general, exports recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Exports By Country

China prevails in exports structure, recording 23M units, which was approx. 67% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (2.1M units), generating a 6.2% share of total exports. Brazil (1,245K units), Belgium (794K units), Mexico (731K units), the Netherlands (695K units), South Korea (578K units) and Hungary (529K units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cash register exports from China stood at +12.5%. At the same time, Mexico (+48.3%), the Netherlands (+27.7%), Belgium (+25.2%), Hungary (+20.8%), Brazil (+18.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+14.5%) and South Korea (+5.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mexico emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +48.3% from 2012-2022. In 2022, the average cash register export price amounted to $148 per unit, surging by 2.3% against the previous year.
