Cauliflower and Broccoli Price in Slovenia (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average cauliflower and broccoli import price amounted to $1,798 per ton, declining by -4% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, cauliflower and broccoli import price decreased by -16.0% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,140 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($14,145 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,162 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+22.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2022
The average cauliflower and broccoli export price stood at $1,216 per ton in 2022, which is down by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 45% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,301 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($2,087 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($954 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Montenegro (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Imports in Slovenia
In 2022, the amount of cauliflower and broccoli imported into Slovenia contracted modestly to 2.4K tons, reducing by -3% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 2.3%.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli imports declined to $3.2M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 10%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3.6M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
