Couscous Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average couscous import price amounted to $2,308 per ton, with a decrease of -21.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,258 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($5,633 per ton), while the price for Morocco ($1,354 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Couscous Price in Switzerland (FOB) - 2022
The average couscous export price stood at $3,704 per ton in 2022, surging by 63% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 259%. The export price peaked at $8,365 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
