The average ferro-alloys; ferro-niobium export price stood at $26,150 per ton in October 2023, approximately equating the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $26,979 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In October 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Japan ($29,082 per ton) and the Netherlands ($27,110 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($24,221 per ton) and Italy ($24,291 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
