Frozen Pork Cut Price in France (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen pork cut export price stood at $2,320 per ton in July 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,557 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Gabon ($4,025 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($1,735 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Pork Cut Price in France (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average frozen pork cut import price amounted to $4,406 per ton, picking up by 6.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 53% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,145 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,728 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,298 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Frozen Pork Cut Exports in France
In 2022, shipments abroad of frozen hams, shoulders and cuts of pig meat decreased by -65.5% to 10K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a dramatic shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 56% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 33K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, frozen pork cut exports contracted sharply to $21M in 2022. Overall, exports showed a dramatic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 59% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $79M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Frozen Pork Cut Imports in France
For the third year in a row, France recorded decline in supplies from abroad of frozen hams, shoulders and cuts of pig meat, which decreased by -21% to 3.7K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt setback. The smallest decline of -1.9% was in 2021.
In value terms, frozen pork cut imports dropped significantly to $14M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a abrupt curtailment. The smallest decline of -4.3% was in 2020.
