Frozen Turkey Cut Price in Greece (CIF) - 2023
The average frozen turkey cut import price stood at $3,563 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -26.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 7.7% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,729 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($5,652 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($2,654 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+67.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Turkey Cut Price in Greece (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average frozen turkey cut export price amounted to $2,045 per ton, increasing by 45% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 107% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,080 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Albania ($4,781 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($542 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Albania (+26.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Frozen Turkey Cut Imports in Greece
In 2022, supplies from abroad of frozen turkey cuts decreased by -23.3% to 8.2K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 11K tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, frozen turkey cut imports reached $37M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 15%.

For the third year in a row, Greece recorded decline in overseas shipments of frozen turkey cuts, which decreased by -19.7% to 249 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports faced a sharp decline.
In value terms, frozen turkey cut exports soared to $510K in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 22% against the previous year.
