Grapefruit Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average grapefruit import price amounted to $1,295 per ton, reducing by -8.5% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,415 per ton in May 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($1,737 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($979 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Grapefruit Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average grapefruit export price stood at $1,002 per ton in June 2023, reducing by -12.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 22% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,487 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,214 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine totaled $942 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+0.1%).
Grapefruit Imports in Poland
In 2022, supplies from abroad of grapefruits decreased by -11.6% to 39K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports saw a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 57K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, grapefruit imports reduced rapidly to $40M in 2022. In general, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $52M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
