The average hand saws import price stood at $19,614 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -3.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated temperate growth from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, hand saws import price decreased by -15.2% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 29% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $23,142 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($36,089 per ton), while the price for China ($7,130 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $18,854 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($74,352 per ton), while the average price for exports to Guyana ($5,709 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+25.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
