Hardboard Price in Pakistan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average hardboard import price amounted to $524 per cubic meter, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $675 per cubic meter in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($851 per cubic meter), while the price for Sri Lanka ($174 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Hardboard Price in Pakistan (FOB) - 2022
The average hardboard export price stood at $1,104 per cubic meter in 2022, growing by 8.9% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, hardboard export price increased by +61.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 59%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($1,322 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Afghanistan amounted to $886 per cubic meter.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sri Lanka (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Hardboard Imports in Pakistan
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of hardboard decreased by -14.3% to 2.2K cubic meters in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +19.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +68.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 2.6K cubic meters in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, hardboard imports shrank significantly to $1.2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 45%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.4M, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

Hardboard Exports in Pakistan
In 2022, hardboard exports from Pakistan totaled 4 cubic meters, stabilizing at the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded a dramatic downturn. The smallest decline of -12.5% was in 2020. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at 8 cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, hardboard exports expanded sharply to $4.4K in 2022. Overall, exports saw a abrupt decline. The exports peaked at $5.6K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
