Ice Cream Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average ice cream export price amounted to $3,300 per ton, surging by 3.3% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 35% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $3,521 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($5,464 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($2,118 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ice Cream Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2023

The average ice cream import price stood at $4,617 per ton in September 2023, surging by 17% against the previous month. Over the last eleven-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 18% month-to-month. The import price peaked in September 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($5,056 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($2,493 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ice Cream Exports in Serbia

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of ice cream decreased by -10.2% to 27K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 30K tons, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, ice cream exports shrank to $69M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +35.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $76M, and then declined in the following year.
