In 2022, the average ketone and quinone import price amounted to $4,371 per ton, jumping by 36% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, ketone and quinone import price increased by +85.1% against 2017 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($21,835 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($895 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+23.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, ketone and quinone export price increased by +54.0% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,309 per ton, and then contracted in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($7,489 per ton), while the average price for exports to Guatemala ($1,224 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+18.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Ketone and Quinone Imports in the United States
Ketone and quinone imports into the United States contracted notably to 246K tons in 2022, declining by -19.9% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports saw a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 42%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 307K tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
