Liquefied Propane Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023

The average liquefied propane import price stood at $417 per ton in September 2023, rising by 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $651 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($507 per ton), while the price for Russia amounted to $392 per ton.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Liquefied Propane Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023

The average liquefied propane export price stood at $506 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 19% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a perceptible descent. The export price peaked at $718 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Slovakia ($550 per ton) and Estonia ($547 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($461 per ton) and Latvia ($473 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (-1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Liquefied Propane Imports in Lithuania

In 2022, imports of liquefied propanes into Lithuania contracted to 11K tons, with a decrease of -13.6% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +47.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 71%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 13K tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, liquefied propane imports soared to $43M in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Liquefied Propane Exports in Lithuania

In 2022, approx. 2.6K tons of liquefied propanes were exported from Lithuania; with an increase of 2.2% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 41%.

In value terms, liquefied propane exports rose slightly to $2M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 117% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
