The average live fish export price stood at $6,220 per ton in June 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 11% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $6,265 per ton in May 2023, and then shrank in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($9,594 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($5,874 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average live fish import price stood at $12,100 per ton in 2022, dropping by -23.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 56% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $19,671 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
