In July 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $1,403 per ton, reducing by -5.7% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a slight increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, mandarins import price decreased by -27.5% against February 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 24% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,936 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,602 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,056 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, export price indicated a strong increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, mandarins export price decreased by -8.3% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 41% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,097 per ton in June 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($2,343 per ton) and Luxembourg ($2,250 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($1,807 per ton) and Spain ($1,874 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
