Mandarins Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022

The average mandarins export price stood at $511 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 12%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Belarus ($659 per ton) and Serbia ($602 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($490 per ton) and Bulgaria ($593 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarins Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022

The average mandarins import price stood at $360 per ton in 2022, falling by -19.4% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% over the last five-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mandarins import price increased by +2.5% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 70%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $447 per ton in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Brazil.

From 2017 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Ukraine amounted to +83.6% per year.

Mandarins Exports in Turkey

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of fruit, edible decreased by -50.4% to 820K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 110%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.7M tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, mandarins exports plummeted to $419M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 100%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $781M, and then declined sharply in the following year.

Mandarins Imports in Turkey

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of fruit, edible, when their volume decreased by -15.8% to 41K tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 66%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 49K tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, mandarins imports reduced rapidly to $15M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 126%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $22M, and then fell markedly in the following year.
