Memories Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2023
The average memories import price stood at $2.2 per unit in July 2023, reducing by -6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a notable expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, memories import price increased by +3.1% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 72% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2.9 per unit. From April 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($10.3 per unit), while the price for the Philippines ($709 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Memories Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average memories export price amounted to $1.0 per unit, growing by 7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 18% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1.3 per unit in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($1.1 per unit), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($716 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Memories Imports in Thailand
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of multichip integrated circuits: memories, when their volume decreased by -5.2% to 443M units. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 467M units in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, memories imports stood at $853M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 56%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Memories Exports in Thailand
In 2022, exports of multichip integrated circuits: memories from Thailand skyrocketed to 473M units, rising by 31% on the year before. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +64.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, memories exports surged to $586M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a deep downturn. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $1.1B in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
