Natural Sand Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022
The average natural sand export price stood at $7.9 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -84.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 121%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $52 per ton in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($1,121 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($7.5 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+36.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average natural sand import price amounted to $213 per ton, falling by -9.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 128% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $354 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As a result, imports reached the peak of 13K tons, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, natural sand imports dropped remarkably to $1.1M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a dramatic curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year.
