The average natural sand import price stood at $59.2 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 1.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 85% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $76.5 per ton. From January 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($143 per ton), while the price for Croatia ($23.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
