Non-Alloy Steel U-Section Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
The average non-alloy steel u-section export price stood at $856 per ton in 2022, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-alloy steel u-section export price increased by +70.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 49% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Colombia ($1,075 per ton) and the UK ($985 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($747 per ton) and Egypt ($753 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Colombia (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Alloy Steel U-Section Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
The average non-alloy steel u-section import price stood at $1,093 per ton in 2022, surging by 5.2% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-alloy steel u-section import price increased by +63.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 55%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,500 per ton), while the price for Iraq ($400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Alloy Steel U-Section Exports in Turkey
For the fourth year in a row, Turkey recorded growth in shipments abroad of u-sections of non-alloy steel, which increased by 9.1% to 304K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 14%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-alloy steel u-section exports soared to $261M in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 61% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
