Oxygen Price in the United States (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average oxygen export price amounted to $0.1 per cubic meter, reducing by -39.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 18%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $0.3 per cubic meter. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($0.1 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Canada (less than $0.1 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (-7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Oxygen Price in the United States (CIF) - 2022
The average oxygen import price stood at $0.1 per cubic meter in 2022, with a decrease of -13.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $0.3 per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($0.1 per cubic meter), while the price for the Netherlands (less than $0.1 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+51.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Oxygen Exports in the United States
For the fourth consecutive year, the United States recorded growth in overseas shipments of oxygen, which increased by 32% to 131M cubic meters in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 115% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, oxygen exports declined markedly to $9.8M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +26.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $12M, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

Oxygen Imports in the United States

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 110%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, oxygen imports skyrocketed to $1.7M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a noticeable curtailment. Imports peaked at $1.9M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
