Pineapple Price in Ecuador (FOB) - 2022
The average pineapple export price stood at $535 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -24.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 3.9%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $760 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($799 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($466 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Pineapple Price in Ecuador (CIF) - 2022
The average pineapple import price stood at $809 per ton in 2022, reducing by -35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 53%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,756 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
