The average import price for articles of apparel and clothing accessories, of leather or of composition leather stood at $4.8 per unit in January 2024, falling by -35.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 84% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7.5 per unit. From September 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($6.1 per unit), while the price for Pakistan ($2.8 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Zimbabwe (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
