In August 2023, the average export price for briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals amounted to $473 per ton, shrinking by -3.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $552 per ton. From July 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the UK amounted to -1.2% per month.

Over the period under review, the import price posted temperate growth. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were the UK ($389 per ton) and Lithuania ($363 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($275 per ton) and Germany ($301 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
