In December 2023, the average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $2,172 per ton, rising by 21% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 45% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,703 per ton. From July 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($4,036 per ton), while the price for Ethiopia ($686 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin stood at $1,969 per ton in 2022, surging by 6.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,553 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,554 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,173 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
