The average import price for copper plates, sheets and strips stood at $11,193 per ton in July 2023, falling by -1.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 26% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $12,086 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from France ($12,086 per ton) and Germany ($11,535 per ton), while the price for Italy ($9,823 per ton) and Serbia ($10,245 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for copper plates, sheets and strips stood at $12,474 per ton in 2022, rising by 9.3% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, copper plates, sheets and strip export price increased by +77.8% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
