The average copper; powders and flakes import price stood at $13,214 per ton in 2022, increasing by 94% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 114% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $62,762 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($16,519 per ton), while the price for Belgium stood at $7,127 per ton.

From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+120.2%).

In 2022, supplies from abroad of copper; powders and flakeses decreased by -58.5% to 6.1 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 175%.

In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
