In December 2023, the average export price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $8,907 per ton, increasing by 1.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.6% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9,273 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Croatia ($8,917 per ton) and Italy ($8,911 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($8,777 per ton) and Turkey ($8,900 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 6% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,553 per ton. From May 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
