Price for Corn Flakes and Cereal Products in Belarus (CIF) - 2022
In March 2022, the average import price for cereal grain products (including corn flakes) amounted to $732 per ton, reducing by -21.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2021 an increase of 19% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,051 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to March 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Russia ($720 per ton), while the price for Turkey amounted to $658 per ton.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Price for Corn Flakes and Cereal Products in Belarus (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for cereal grain products (including corn flakes) stood at $741 per ton in March 2022, growing by 4.5% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated measured growth from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, corn flakes and cereal products export price decreased by -1.5% against January 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 67% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $838 per ton in July 2021; however, from August 2021 to March 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($1,220 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($430 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Corn Flakes and Cereal Products in Belarus
In 2022, supplies from abroad of cereal grain products (including corn flakes) was finally on the rise to reach 40K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated noticeable growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, corn flakes and cereal products imports surged to $37M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +76.4% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
