In 2022, the average import price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s amounted to $8,222 per ton, reducing by -8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 55% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $10,453 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($12,787 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($3,621 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price, however, saw a perceptible downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 124%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $28,714 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,657 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK totaled $6,127 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
