Over the period under review, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for hop cones; ground, powdered or in the form of pellets; lupulin decreased by -3.3% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 49%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $21,196 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 47% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $33,707 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Iceland ($32,018 per ton), while the average price for exports to Armenia ($18,879 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
