The average export price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $1,468 per ton in December 2022, flattening at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 9.6% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,750 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Germany ($1,729 per ton) and Turkey ($1,502 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,234 per ton) and Italy ($1,434 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
