In July 2023, the average lamb and sheep meat export price amounted to $6,811 per ton, reducing by -8.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 24% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $7,478 per ton in June 2023, and then dropped in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Israel ($12,901 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ghana ($1,278 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
