In October 2023, the average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds amounted to $196 per ton, dropping by -5.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 18% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $246 per ton. From September 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($350 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($131 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
