In 2022, the average import price for phosphinates (hypophosphites), phosphonates (phosphites), phosphates and polyphosphateses amounted to $1,294 per ton, growing by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The import price peaked at $1,428 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($3,096 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($899 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+23.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,673 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Gabon.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Gabon amounted to +3.6% per year.

In 2022, overseas purchases of phosphinates (hypophosphites), phosphonates (phosphites), phosphates and polyphosphateses decreased by -27.9% to 2K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year.
In value terms, imports of phosphinates (hypophosphites), phosphonates (phosphites), phosphates and polyphosphateses expanded sharply to $2.5M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +59.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 27% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
