In 2022, the average export price for press-fasteners, snap-fasteners, press-studs and parts therefor amounted to $28,202 per ton, with a decrease of -6% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $33,926 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($40,918 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($12,089 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for press-fasteners, snap-fasteners, press-studs and parts therefor stood at $17,587 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -30.8% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a moderate increase from October 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.0% over the last ten-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, import price for press-fasteners, snap-fasteners, press-studs and parts therefor increased by +23.9% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 47% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $25,431 per ton, and then shrank remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($107K per ton), while the price for Kosovo ($11,875 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+37.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
