The average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $6,090 per ton in 2022, picking up by 36% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses increased by +62.5% against 2018 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 123%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $5,185 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($4,599 per ton), while the average price for exports to Maldives stood at $4,015 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+220.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
