The average export price for tomatoes; prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid stood at $1,471 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 27% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,524 per ton in 2020; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Burundi ($1,670 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Sudan ($1,157 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
