The average import price for wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses stood at $714 per thousand litres in December 2023, declining by -15.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 44% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1.0 per litre in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($2.6 per litre), while the price for Canada ($279 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 56% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2.6 per litre. From July 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($3.3 per litre), while the average price for exports to Norway ($833 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
