Price for Wire of Other Alloy Steel in Japan (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for wire of other alloy steels stood at $3,111 per ton in July 2023, approximately mirroring the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 9.8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,150 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($6,419 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($1,578 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,692 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,857 per ton) and Thailand ($1,624 per ton), while the price for China ($1,356 per ton) and Vietnam ($1,410 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Wire of Other Alloy Steel in Japan
