The average import price for wood stood at $10.1 per cubic meter in December 2021, with a decrease of -2.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 8.3% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $14.6 per cubic meter in January 2021; however, from February 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($10.8 per cubic meter), while the price for Sweden stood at $9.9 per cubic meter.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (0.0%).

The average export price for wood stood at $6.1 per cubic meter in December 2021, picking up by 13% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 when the average export price increased by 34% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6.4 per cubic meter in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to December 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($8.7 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Germany ($3.8 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
