Over the period under review, import price indicated a modest expansion from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, wood; posts and beams import price decreased by -30.9% against September 2021 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2021 an increase of 21% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,552 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($2,195 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($1,286 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
