In 2022, the average import price for zinc; plates, sheets, strip and foils amounted to $4,927 per ton, growing by 205% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a prominent expansion. The import price peaked at $5,129 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($5,143 per ton), while the price for China ($635 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
